Governor of Goshen was a title used to identify the political ruler of Goshen, a province of Egypt inhabited by the Hebrew people. It was only issued once when Pharaoh Rameses II appointed the title to the cheif Hebrew overseer Dathan as a reward for revealing to him the identity of the deliverer of the slaves.
Dathan only served as governor for a mere five years approximately (30–35 ABM). During his first year of service, Dathan was also granted the water girl Lilia as his concubine and she too became an Egyptian noble.
Dathan and Lilia's house was located in Goshen, and was formerly the residence of the master-builder Baka.
